If you are looking to learn the guitar, if you're an intermediate player or maybe a seasoned musician there are always guitar lessons available that teach songs you should know. I have been a guitarist since I was 10 and I have been a professional player and teacher since I left The Royal Scottish Academy of Music in 2002. After teaching hundreds of people I have seen a pattern in what people want from guitar lessons songs.
I am not saying this is the definitive list or guide to guitar lessons songs that you should tackle or know but its just a list of the most popular or most requested. I also took into consideration that as a guitar player you are put on the 'spot' a lot. Its an instrument that always appears at parties and if people know you can play... "Hey Jim, can you play any Nirvana"? Will be a question your going to hear a lot. Especially if your name's Jim ha ha!

I haven't out those in any particular order and I am certainly not saying that's the be all and end all. Its just a great place to start.
Oh...remember you haven't got to learn the whole songs, just learn the opening riffs, or a few chords so people can sing along. You will get so much enjoyment out of learning some well known songs and you can impress the hec out of people at a party.
Take your time, master one at a time and keep practicing. That is the key to learning and mastering any guitar lessons songs.
