Apologize Ringtone

Timbaland decided to remix the track and release it as the fourth single from his album Shock Value. Suddenly, Apologize went from a random track on a random alternative rock band's album to an international, chart-topping hit single. Timbaland does not actually sing in the re-mixed version of the song, rather he samples vocals similar to those on Nelly Furtado's single Say It Right.

The vocalist and writer of the song is Ryan Tedder, also the lead singer of the OneRepublic. According to the band's MySpace site, the song "explores the personal pain of multiple relationships gone away and the necessity of moving on".

Apologize has topped music charts around the world, including the Billboard Hot 100 and charts from countries such as Canada, Sweden, Turkey and Poland. The song is also on its way to being a top 10 on the US Rhythmic Radio chart, which would make OneRepublic one of the first rock bands in history to have a Rhythmic top 10 hit.

The music video has also become incredibly popular. Although its premise is simple, the music video perfectly captures the emotion and simplicity of the song. It has been played over 10 million times on YouTube and is also receiving massive airplay on MTV in the US and MuchMusic in Canada.

The success of the single Apologize has also made this ringtone the most popular ringtone in America. Timbaland has had many hit singles before, but he has really found something special in OneRepublic. We will be eagerly anticipating their next release, but until then, we'll continue to enjoy Apologize in all its glory.

Circus Ringtone - Britney Spears

Many may have thought that Britney Spears had her career done and ended with after all her off the music career trouble. Beginners Guitar Lesson - Ear Training - Where is Music?

Where is music? Sounds like a simple question, but think about it for a minute or two and you may not be so sure of the answer. Is a CD music? Is a mp3 music? Surely a piece of written music is music.

Remember the question was where is music... or more specifically where does it exist?

Let's take each of the examples given above and have a closer look at then one by one:

* A CD is not music it's a piece of Perspex, it only produces musical sounds when it is placed in a CD player by itself it doesn't do anything probably the only practical use for it would be as a drink coaster although with that hole in the middle I'm not so sure of that.

* A mp3 file is exactly the same it does not produce a musical sound until it's loaded into a specific piece of software.

* A piece of sheet music is just a piece of paper with a musician's ideas frozen in time on paper once again the written music is not music, it does not become music until it is performed by a musician, it's the musician that brings it to life.

All of the above examples are storage and retrieval systems... they are not music; I'm sure you could think of other examples, jot them down... it's important because you starts you thinking about something that most people take for granted.

So where does music exist... give up?

The only place music exists is in your MEMORY!

Think of that for a moment, if I where to mention a song you knew you would immediately hear that song being played in you mind, it would be as if you had placed a CD in a CD player, that's your musical memory at work and the more we use this aspect of your memory the better the musician you will become.

How is your musical memory is it working well or could it do with a tune up?

A great place to start is by examining your listening skills. Do you have a listening library of reference music? If not start building your reference library, you could simply start with a one CD, it's not the size of your library that matters it's how well you know your library.

What has this got to do with guitar playing?... absolutely everything, what you play on the guitar is a result of what you are hearing internally, there's two levels to reach with guitar (a) to be able to play what you hear and (b) to make sure what you hear is worthwhile playing.

The musical quality of your ideas are directly linked to quality listening habits and how well developed your musical perception skills are.

So the moral of the story is... "there's more to playing the guitar than playing the guitar."

Five Ways to Make Money on the Internet

If your dream is to make money from an Internet business, you may be surprised that there are several different types. There's a lot of talk about finding a niche and selling just one, special, product but before you make the leap and build a web store that sells under water embroidery supplies for left handed sailors called Bob, it may be an idea to check whether this is the best thing for you.

1. Products. Selling products is the most obvious form of Internet business. You'll need to set up an e-commerce site, find a good, reliable supplier for your products and do your best to negotiate good shipping rates. Shipping can easily eat in to the profit of a website and can be a lot of work, so drop shipping is popular. If you can find a drop shipper for the product you want to sell you can worry about advertising and selling the product while your drop shipper handles the warehousing and delivery. Of course there is a fee involved, so the method only works where you stand to make a reasonable profit. Low cost items are not usually successful when drop shipped, but don't give up hope, there are wholesalers who will deal in low volumes. This may be the answer.

2. Free Information. If selling products doesn't appeal you can build a website around free information. Create a central repository for useful information about your area of interest you could even run a club with a monthly newsletter for people who share your interest. If it is successful you may even be able to charge a small membership fee and hide part of your site from casual visitors. An information sheet which costs $1 to download sounds insignificant, but mounts up if you can attract a million interested visitors. You can also sell advertising space, add Google ads to your pages or perhaps create customised products, for example from CafePress. If you have an expert at a sport or hobby this may be the ideal path for you.

3. Information Products. A similar approach is to sell information products. This is ideal for a consultant or coach. If you have a mailing list of faithful followers you can sell all sorts of information such as reports, e-books, email courses, podcasts, videos, physical books, coaching calls and webinars, or a combination. Your web site needs to demonstrate your expertize and give visitors a way (and a reason) to join your mailing list. Again this is great if you have a great deal of knowledge about a subject, but it is possible to license a product from someone else, or outsource the creation of the product to freelancers.

4. Another option is to become an affiliate marketer. This is similar to being a salesman paid only on commission. You recommend a product or products to visitors to your website and if they buy it (from a third party) you receive a commission. Affiliate payments vary enormously. They can be 50% of the cost of the product, but more often they are a small percentage, so you need a stable of products as well as steady, heavy web site traffic to make money this way. If your web site visitors perceive you as an expert in the subject concerned, you are more likely to be successful.

5. Blogging. Not everyone is going to be offered a book deal or a spot on a news program, but there is definitely money to be made in writing on the Internet. Blogs which contain interesting or entertaining content can attract a great deal of visitors and make money in the same way as those with free information sites, only the content their product is opinion, aggregation and commentary rather than information.

Whichever method you choose, be sure to get your information from reliable sources and avoid the many internet scams. You do not need to buy or attend courses which cost thousands of dollars in order to make money on the web, but if you approach the task properly there is money to be made. All it takes is persistence, time and a willingness to learn.

Learn Guitar Secret Number 2 - Major Pentatonic Scale System F Major

The fix-it-all-in-five-minutes guitar instructors and method books would have you believe that you could master the guitar and the entire musical world with the minor pentatonic scale, but as anyone with even the most basic 'bandstand' experience knows... it ain't necessarily so!

The minor pentatonic scale has an equally important twin sister scale, the major pentatonic let's zoom in for a closer look.

The F major pentatonic scale:

On the guitar it would look like this:
